Purchase My Book

Hello. My name is Bobbie Dumas Panek. I am a writer and poet. My poetry has been published in Sunshine, Many Waters, Pen Woman, magazines & Moondance and aaduna, on-line magazine, and in the poetry anthologies Common Intuitions, Remembering Faces and four anthologies with the National League of American Pen Women : Poems of the Super Moon, The Light Between Us, and In the Company of Women, with an essay in Creative Genius (NLAPW) and an essay in Who Are You?, edited by Merlyn Fuller.

My articles have been published in the magazines: Birds and Blooms, Reminisce Extra, and Journal for the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), and I was also published by American Mothers. And was thrilled to have my 35 word story chosen for Writers & Books 35th Anniversary contest.

I wrote a weekly column, "Just Another Day," in Auburn’s newspaper, The Citizen. (One of my columns was included in Reverend Albert Shamon’s book, The Power of the Rosary). And on September 1st, 2015 those forty-eight columns became available in a book of the same name, Just Another Day.

My first book of poetry was published by FootHills Publishing. Morning Walks: Zen Meditations is an 85-page spine book with hand-stitching.

Spring 2016-Spring 2018 I was the Poetry Editor for the National League of American Pen Woman Magazine.

I like writing because I stop to think what I want to say rather than blurt out reactions. I walk in nature to unscramble my thoughts and to find clarity. With my fingers holding a rosary, much like mala beads the texture and curves of the beads keep me centered. Walking on the earth always keeps me grounded.

My Story

I worked for twenty-five years as a Radiologic Technologist registered in radiography, mammography, and computed tomography, and received my B.A. Degree in Creative Writing from Empire State College. I am the chairperson of the Finger Lakes Writers Group.

I live in Auburn, New York by the farm with my husband, where many crops are grown, including sunflowers for inspiration. Our children and grandchildren bring us immense joy.
